500 Million Yahoo Accounts Hacked!

Yahoo said it believes a “state-sponsored actor” was behind the data breach, meaning an individual acting on behalf of a government. The breach is said to have occurred in late 2014.

“The account information may have included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, hashed passwords and, in some cases, encrypted or un-encrypted security questions and answers,” Yahoo said in a statement.


What changes can you make as an online e-commerce consumer to help ward off would-be hackers? Improve your security questions and use of two-factor authentication.

Do you know that 20% of Americans write down “Pizza” as the security question that asks for their favorite food? How hard is that for a hacker to guess? It isn’t! Get creative so that your answers can’t be guessed!
